Jenny McCracken will be creating the portrait and has been a part of Zest since 2003. Jenny is a familiar name and face in the Outback Arts region as an accomplished artist who has worked on several installations in the Outback Arts region.
Local professional Gamileroi Artist Frank Wright has been involved in designing the background of the portrait, which includes a river system map of the area and local totems.
The General Manager said Walgett would join the growing number of silo and water tower arts trails in NSW. ‘The Walgett tower would be a welcomed addition to the region's trail with water tower paintings already in Coonamble and Gulargambone to the south. The paintings are having a phenomenal effect on the sustainability of these small towns through increased visitor numbers’ he said.’’
