Outback Fashion Month included over 180 Women across 5 LGA’s

Since 2018, Signal Creative and Outback Arts have been delivering fashion and costume-creating activities throughout Outback NSW. From humble beginnings, the River Stories project in Walgett saw the creation of 4 stunning costume pieces made from recycled, this ignited a passion for fashion and textile design that grew into Walgett Fashion Week and in 2023 to Outback Fashion Month.

The Fashion month included workshops and styling in Brewarrina, Bourke and Walgett.

The 2024 Outback Fashion series offered these activities to new communities including Cobar, Coonamble, Nyngan and Warren.

Focusing on Women in these communities, participants get the chance to print and drape their own textiles as well as model their pieces in a professional photoshoot.
